07 September, 2022
New special equipment was added to Tbilisi Municipality.

The mayor of the capital city, Kakha Kaladze, held a presentation of new special equipment of "Tbilservice Group" and "Tbilisi Municipal Laboratory".

As he mentioned during his speech at the presentation, in order for Tbilisi to be a leader among European capitals in terms of tourism, the municipality is implementing a number of projects.

"Tbilisi, as a beautiful and ancient capital, needs maintenance. We must do everything to ensure that Tbilisi is always a leader among European cities in terms of tourist destinations. For this, it is necessary that the infrastructure in the city is as orderly and well-maintained as possible.

You can see how important projects are being implemented in the capital in different directions, on different avenues to make this city even more comfortable. To be able to move more freely. Also, public transport is important, where we initiated the most important reform, and today I am really proud as the mayor of the city and a person living in this city that we have completely renewed public transport, buses, minibuses, hence yellow broken down, miserable buses and minibuses no more move in the city, which in the past has created a big problem for people living in the city, in terms of emissions and also in terms of comfort. Today, Tbilisi has completely renewed, European-type buses, and of course, this reform will continue.

Also, one of the most important components is the greening of the city, where we implemented a number of important projects and continue to work in this direction. "Tbilisi should have as many squares and parks as possible in order to be the greenest city in Europe, where people living here and visiting guests will have the opportunity to relax and unwind," Kakha Kaladze said.

According to him, the municipality purchased 74 units of special equipment for the "Tbilservice Group" with the support and assistance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Of these, 59 units are already in Tbilisi and will serve the capital from tomorrow.

"With the support and assistance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we purchased 74 units of special equipment for various purposes. Of these, 59 units are already in Tbilisi, the remaining 15 units will arrive in a few days. All this was done to make our city even cleaner, more orderly, and of course, from tomorrow this technique will start working on the streets of the capital city.

I would like to thank the international financial organizations very much for this support and cooperation. All the important projects that we have implemented, all the initiatives, have been carried out with their support till date. Of course, it will continue like this in the future," Kakha Kaladze said.
