On the right bank of Mtkvari river, the optimization of existing traffic junction near the “Vepkhi da Mokme” monument was carried out, which resulted in increasing the capacity of intersection by apprx. 15%.

As a part of works, horizontal road markings have been drawn, bollards were installed and traffic light indicators have been changed. Road lanes have also been added to the area. In particular, a traffic light-controlled turning lane from Marshal Gelovani Avenue towards Zhvania Square, as well as a third traffic lane from Zhvania Square to Marshal Gelovani Avenue.

The geometric parameters of the intersection have been reduced and the time to cross it has decreased, which increases the efficiency of the traffic light. As a result of the changes, movement for vehicles has become much safer, because previously emergency situations frequently occured in the specified area.

The employees of various departments of Tbilisi City Hall, including Tbilservice Group LLC, were involved in the working process.
